The Summer of Ovechkin
What a great few months for Ovi.
A 7th Rocket Richard Trophy. Check.
Stanley Cup Championship. Check.
Conn Smythe Trophy. Check.
Became a father to his first son. Check.
Unbelievable. Congrats to the Great 8 and his Mrs. Great 8 (who is actually a perfect 10).
In honor of the birth of Sergei Ovechkin, i wanted to brainstorm the possibilities of what he will grow up to be. Here are the most probable scenarios:
1. 2036 Left Winger for the Washington Capitals.
No brainer. The hockey greatness is in his blood. If he does pursue the sport, and the Caps don’t do WHATEVER it takes to get him, I’ll boycott forever.
2. President of Russia
Even though it’s very probable that Putin has already been genetically modified to live forever, I think that little Ovi is the clear cut 2nd choice.
3. Trust Fund Kid
I would like to think that Russian Machine is going to make his kid work and take up a career. But it’s a new age, I see millennials and how many of them are entitled, lazy shitheads. Ya never know… but I think this is the least likely.
4. Russian Hitman
What a turn of events that would be. “Russian Hitman never breaks”. Has a 30-for-30 feature written all over it.
5. Starting Pitcher for the Washington Nationals
If a hockey career doesn’t happen, this has got to be the next best thing right? And if we’re lucky, Ted will still be alive and will have bought the Skins and the Nats by then.
Dad has already left his mark on the Nats. Little Ovi on the mound at Nats Park would be absolutely epic.
