The Hate List
I’m in a bad mood today.
The jinx is real folks.
ANDDDDDDD….
Mother. F***ER.
I give up. The Washington Redskins will never make the jump. Never ever. And I know, he was a rookie, he’s only 1 player out of 53, blah blah blah. The point is, in 6 rushes he looked vicious. He was a catalyst in that locker room, and a fan favorite. Now we have to hope Chris Thompson and a combo of Fat Rob and Perine can get the job done.
So the hate I have for unnecessary pre-season injuries have sparked me to write about things I hate.
So what you will find is a list of athletes most hated by DC sports fans, and as a bonus, a list of a few random things I personally hate, just to feed my mood today.
1. Sidney Crosby
I’ll make this short and sweet: Sid the kid (horrible nickname) is the biggest crybaby, catered-to athlete in all of sports because the sport of hockey in general tends to worship all things Canadian, and Pittsburgh fans are also the worst because they think they work harder and are the grittiest city in the world (not true) and Crosby is nothing more than a scavenger at the net who benefits from playing next to Evgeni Malkin (who I hate a few notches less than Crosby).
Short and sweet.
2. J.J. Redick/ Grayson Allen/ Christian Laettner
“But Jeff, your list makes no sense, there are 3 players under one number”.
These three dudes ARE THE SAME PERSON. Insert 10 years in between them and you literally have the same 3 cocky, entitled, dirty players all from the same school, all performing aggravatingly well for the most aggravatingly successful head coach. I literally think they are breeding these assholes in a lab somewhere on the Duke campus.
3. Tony Romo
Romo should have played for the Redskins.
Romo was the epitome of regular season superstar, with nothing to really hang his hat on in the postseason. He wasn’t particularly successful against the Skins, going 9-7 against us in his career. But one thing that always aggravated me was how every fumble or loose ball when he was on the field always bounced right into his hands like a damn magnet. Quite honestly though, what makes him so well-hated is that each and every season, he was touted as an MVP candidate and a favorited to lead his team to the Super Bowl, or at least the NFC championship game.
Ask me how many times that happened?
4. LeBron James
LeBron James should quite honestly make the list for most hated athlete no matter what city you are in.
He is probably the most dominant basketball player statistically to every step on the court, and a helluva athlete. But he is the biggest baby, entitled, flopping quitter to ever play any sport. The man takes the easy way out at every turn, and leaves nothing but destruction behind him. He abandons his hometown team, tries to take the easy route in Miami, fails (relative to expectations), returns home, becomes unofficial GM of the Cavs, wins one championship, hamstrings their salary cap, can’t beat Golden State so then he leaves to go to LA.
Let’s not even go into the flopping.
Ugh.
5. Albert Haynesworth
Albert Haynesworth was the biggest piece of garbage any DC sports team has ever signed. He signed a MASSIVE $100 mil deal, couldn’t stay in shape, had a horrible attitude, and gave every DC cynic every bit of ammo they need to bash DC sports.
Haynesworth is Dan Snyder, Dan Snyder is Albert Haynesworth.
Our team and image suffered because of that lazy, overpaid excuse for a D-lineman. He stinks.
BONUS ROUND:
1. Not thanking people when they hold the door for you
You are not entitled for me to hold the door for you. A thank you is the least you can do when I stand there for 15 seconds waiting on you to get to the door.
2. Not using a blinker
They are there for a reason. If you approach a turn-lane perpendicular to me and don’t use your signal, I am going to yell at you and give you the finger. #facts
3. Parking on top of either line in a spot
Please center your vehicle as best as possible. I would like to be able to open my door and get in my vehicle. Plus an offset park job is like a domino effect, everyone around you starts parking like morons and the whole lot is f’d.
4. Smoking in crowded areas
If you wanna smoke, smoke. Free country, do as you please. Just don’t blow it in unwilling participants faces. Or around my kid.
5. Paying with change at the register
It’s 5:30 am and I want coffee. How about you don’t scrounge through your pockets to find $2.67 in dimes and pennies. Swipe your card or pull out a bill. For God’s sake.
