Just a Hunch: Week 4 Edition
Although Week 3 Was Wild AF, Week 4 started off with a bang.
It has been a long time since I have seen a QB dual as exciting as Kirk v. Jared on Thursday night. Watching Cousins sling the ball up and down the field ALMOST made me miss having him… until I look back at his performance in Week 3.
Thursday night was just a Warm-Up
It may be hard to top the game on Thursday, but I see several matchups that you should get your popcorn ready for.
Buffalo @ Green Bay
My hunch last week was that both these teams would surprise, and of course I was correct.
Buffalo not only covered the spread, but outright destroyed Minnesota. Conversely, I had predicted that Green Bay may lay an egg against the Skins, and they definitely did in their loss.
This week, I expect Buffalo to surprise again. Will they beat Rodgers and the Pack? Probably not. But I do expect a tight, high scoring affair at Lambeau this week.
Tampa Bay @ Chicago
The Fitz-magic ended (kinda). He still put up pretty good numbers, but the Bucs took an L to the Steelers.
Chicago squeaked out a win against Arizona, but it definitely wasn’t the most impressive.
In week 4, it should be interesting to see if Chicago’s vicious pass rush can stall Fitzpatrick’s MVP-type numbers, making the Bucs’ decision on what to do with Winston that much more difficult.
Over/under on sacks for Mack: 2.5.
Cleveland @ Oakland
“Hey man, this Baker guy better pass the dough man. Cuz he’s about to get rolled over”.
Wrong, Jon. Wrong.
In one game, Mayfield has got the city of Cleveland excited again. The guy just seems to have the “it” that every team looks for.
But so did Johnny Football.
I don’t think the Baker show stops yet. Against the porous Oakland defense, I think he is going to put up serious numbers, and lead Cleveland to their, dare I say it, 1st win streak in 683 years.
Ma-homes gets broken into
That was a Robert Woods joke.
Mahomes is even bigger of a story than Fitzpatrick this year. But quite honestly, Fitzpatrick is much more impressive IMO. Alex Smith has been just OK with the Skins so far, but last year in KC he was a top QB in the whole league. So when Mahomes comes in and throws for 13 TD’s in 3 games, it’s pretty hard for me not to believe that he is benefiting from a damn good system and team in KC.
So this week, the hot streak ends.
Denver’s defense hasn’t quite hit their stride thus far, but Von Miller is still Von Miller.
The Chiefs have only allowed 4 sacks in 3 games, mainly because of the quick throw system and mobility of Mahomes. But this week, I think Denver doubles the sacks allowed by KC, and with Miller setting the edge, the Chiefs will struggle offensively and Denver will win a low-scoring affair on Monday night.
Lucky Number 13
Through the first 3 weeks, there have only been 13 100-yard rushers.
This week alone, there will be 14.
